Developing great leaders through emotional intelligence

Our Services

Emotional Intelligence

The concept of emotional intelligence came to the fore in 1996 when the term ‘Emotional Intelligence’ was popularised by Daniel Goleman in his book of the same name. Now over twenty years later, it is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary as ‘the capacity to be aware of, control and express one’s emotions and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathically’.

Emotional Intelligence helps a leader understand themselves and those around them, giving them tools to leverage relationships. People are influenced by the people around them, their manager and co-workers. Through their leadership style managers convey to employees the value placed upon them by their employer. When employees perceive their manager values them they are more likely to have a positive impact on organisational performance. ( Details and Costs here ).

Leadership Development

We provide Leadership programmes for managers at every level that can be tailored to the needs of the organisation and the needs of the individual. All our programmes are rooted in Emotional Intelligence based leadership. We have partnered with H-Training and Talent Pool which enables our clients to achieve ILM internationally recognised certification or QQI (Quality Qualifications Ireland) certification.

HR Consultancy

We work with organisations to assist in linking business goal and objectives with HR strategy, providing the tools to create a positive culture and to motivate employees. We can develop and support the onboarding process to integrate new employees to fully engage with the business.

It is the duty of every employer to provide their employees with information relating to their employment as dictated by current employment legislation. Around the Clock will create or update your policies, procedures and Employee Handbook.

Mediation and Investigation

Workplace mediation can provide informal resolution of a problem. Around the Clock provides a confidential mediation service ensuring that all parties are heard and work together to find a mutually agreeable solution to the issues. A solution that is mutually arrived at and agreed upon is likely to be more effective.

Around the Clock will conduct an independent investigation as required by Disciplinary, Grievance or Bullying and Harassment Policies. Our investigators have decades of experience in Industrial Relations.

Testimonials

“I have just finished my Certificate in Leadership and Management with Margaret as my coach. I enjoyed the course as it gave me time to reflect on my performance as a manager and how I can improve my skills. Without Margaret’s positive support and guidance, I feel I would not have personally benefited from the course and found I not only have a certificate, but a true understanding of my effectiveness and abilities as a manager.”

‘I have worked with Margaret Collins in two separate industry's in the past 4 years. Having previously worked with her in the grocery retail sector in a company where she served as HR manager, she was always a pillar of the senior management team who I as a trainee manager at the time relied on heavily and learned so much from. Her knowledge, experience and expertise on HR is incredible. So much so, when I moved sectors into our family transport business and needed help with organising contracts and legal advice, I didn’t need to think twice about who to contact. Her friendly approachable personality along with the passion she has for her work allows me to recommend Margaret Collins HR with huge confidence’.

Testimonials

‘We started out as a very small business a good number of years ago. But as our business grew so did the need to take on extra help. Recruiting and employment was totally new to us as we had no previous experience and absolutely no knowledge of employment law, employee entitlements and even how to engage with employees when issues arose. That is when we decided to get professional help. We already had a very good accountant and solicitor, but we were very short on HR advice and guidance. We like to keep our business local and to deal with somebody on a one to one basis was absolutely essential. Liz Kingston came highly recommended. We took a good look at the various options available and after our initial meeting with Liz we knew we had the right person to meet our needs. Liz had a very professional approach, took the time to understand perfectly what our needs were and to identify the HR weakness’s in our business. She has a very thorough understanding of employment law is fully up to date with the relevant legislation and has a unique ability to tease out an issue and get to the root of a problem before it gets out of control. Having the professional help such as a good accountant and solicitor are essential but if you are employing people it is even more to have the right HR advice as a mistake in this area can be very costly indeed. We are delighted with the service that Liz Kingston provides. It gives us peace of mind and confidence to know we have such professional back up when needed. I have recommended Liz to other business people and am happy and confident to continue doing so knowing the top class service she provides.
